I really dislike these sort of themes. I believe you can learn something from anyone. Throughout my life, I've had many "teachers and mentors". Some have been more important than others, but I have learned lessons from them all. I am grateful for each person who has touched my life, good or bad. So, instead of writing about a person, I'm going to write about some life lessons that have been learned from a myriad of people.
- Don't trust anyone with your secrets. They won't be secrets long if you do that.
- If you don't want someone to know something, don't put it in writing.
- To be a successful manager, those you are managing must be happy and feel cared for.
- Everyone feels bad. Some just hide it better than others.
- Family comes before everything.
- If you want others to like you, you have to like yourself first.
- It's OK to be sad.
- Never leave angry. (or go to bed angry)
- Always look for the good in people.
- There are bad people in this world.
- Those who bully you are jealous of you.
- Make sure you remember to appreciate the little things.
- The library is one of our best resources.
- It's important to get out and DO something.
- Traditions matter.
- Sandwich criticism. (good, bad, good)
- Preventative maintenance is important.
- Before helping others with their oxygen mask, put yours on first.
- Always look for the life preserver on a plane.
- What you say isn't near as important as how you act.
- A good book can change your day.
- Friends are important.
- Make time for what matters.
- Choose your battles.
