What I am grateful for about my city and what I can't stand are the same, depending on the day. I live in small town Ohio. Some people wouldn't really consider this a small town, but coming from the city, it's most definitely small town. Sometimes small town life is suffocating. Other times, it's welcomed. The number one thing I am grateful for is the feeling of safety in this town. It is comforting to know that I'm raising my children in a mostly safe little 'burb. I am grateful that my town has great free events to attend throughout the year. We're going on 15 years of living here, but we've only just started to take advantage of these events with our kids. Our library is fantastic, which for my family of readers is very important. We've also got wonderful parks and a lot of them to choose from. You can get pretty much anywhere in town within 7-10 minutes. We have a Target and Starbucks, so I never have to go anywhere else (OK, that's a joke...sort of) I'm also grateful for where in my city I live. I have the best neighbors. I live 4 houses from the school. Downtown is within walking distance. If we were to move, I don't think we would get this lucky again.
