Sunshine officially started school today. The class was broken up today into two groups, so Sunshine went for the second half. She was chomping at the bit to go. She couldn't wait. When we got there, she went right in, kissed me good-bye and was off. When school was done, her teacher told me how good she was and how she just made herself at home. That's Sunshine. I wasn't worried. She can't wait to go back! Most of our good friends started school today as well. After everyone was done, we all headed out to eat to celebrate a great job in preschool!

Ah, Labor Day Weekend. A time to kick back and relax. A time to focus on family. A time to be outdoors enjoying the last of summer. Not so much in the Rock household. I do remember those times. I remember playing baseball with friends and cooking out. Now, Labor Day weekend is all about labor. It's about catching up on all the things we need to do to prepare for fall. It's taking down the pool. It's getting the yard autumn ready. It's catching up from the back to school craziness. So while a lot of people were enjoying their time off, we were mowing the lawn, re-upholstering chairs, putting hooks on bathroom door, grocery shopping, doing mounds of laundry, making pickles, and enjoying a visit with Grandma (which was a work visit to get everything organized to makes Monster's costume). I'm really not complaining. It was an extremely productive weekend. I love productive weekends. Sadly, though, I look back and wish we had more time to have fun with the kids this weekend. Logically, I know it was for the best. Now, we've got many more weekends to have fun the whole weekend instead of taking time out to do the little chores here and there. Plus, it rained all weekend, so there wasn't much outdoor fun to be had. So, while other people rested, here's one of the projects we undertook.
