Next, Oee, had the kids make up bookmarks for the library. Whenever we go to the library, and that's a minimum of once a week, if the kids are reading a book and it's time to go, they have to grab scrap paper or other library handouts to mark their pages. I thought it would be a great idea for the kids to make bookmarks that the librarians could offer children. Apparently Oee thought it was a good idea as well. I really wish I would have taken pictures of the bookmarks. They were very simple, but turned out great!
Oee also had the kids bake cookies (really, Oee just wanted cookies for himself, but we decided to bake some to give away. Sunshine was able to choose who to give them to), write thank yous to teachers, draw pictures to brighten cashiers' days, donate unwanted books to Project LEARN, and to just be kind. In past years, we've done many more things for Advent Acts of Kindness, this year, however, we're on a time crunch. That being said, we do many random acts of kindess throught out the year, so it all balances out! Just on their own, kids made snowflakes to decorate the birth center at the hospital, Sunshine made cookies for a friend whose uncle passed away, and Monster made donations to the Children's Center. All in all, with or without Oee, I think we're raising pretty kind kids.
