It's hard for Sunshine to grasp the concept that some other mommies work outside of the home. We were talking about it and she says to me, "Mommy, you work outside, too. You pick up poop and take out the trash and mow the lawn."

I actually put eyeliner on today. Sunshine says, "Look at Mommy's eyes! They bright." Monster says, "Wow, you have blue eyes. They look pretty." I obviously don't wear make up enough.
Monster's fun fact for the day was, 'Ants don't have eyelids, so they can't blink'. He reads it and immediately responds, "So how do they sleep?"
Monster has been spending a little too much time with Papa. Every thing that tastes good is now "delicioso" . Today, Monster told me that salami was "delicioso". Sunshine replies with, "It's delicious salsa!"
Little Miss Sunshine was complaining her arm hurt (only when she's trying to get out of doing something). Husband asked her if he needed to cut it off. She told him yes, but not with scissor. He needed to use a saw.
On the way to swim lessons, I get a text from Husband. He won't be home for dinner or bedtime, again. I break the news to the kids. Poor Sunshine says, "Why Daddy never round?"
Monster: Dear God, Please let Nana be OK. Adam.
Mommy: I think you mean 'Amen'. Monster: Oh, yeah. Amen. Apparently Husband has been away from home a little too much lately. He was on the phone with a co-worker and when he got off, he told the guy, "Love you". He's been trying to come up with stuff that might sound like "Love you". The lie he has figured out is to tell the guy he was walking in the door and talking to me. While Husband is totally embarrassed, I'm laughing like a crazy person! This is one he won't live down.
Our airport tour inspired Monster to want to be pilot. Last night when he went to bed, he and Husband were talking. Monster told him that he wanted to be a pilot. Husband told him that was great, but that meant he'd be gone a lot. Monster responds with, "Oh, yeah. Then I wouldn't be able to see Mommy. But I could take her to Hawaii." I love that kid!
I don't know how this topic started but Sunshine, Monster and I were discussing how everyone gets sad now and again, but we need to make the choice to be happy. Monster then says, "A day that is spent being sad is a day wasted. A day that is spent being happy is a day not wasted."
Nana, sound like something Papa would say? Or did Monster come up with that all on his own? |
