This is tough. I've never really felt at home in town. There is really no place that sticks out from the rest, which is unusual because I can find a favorite place in almost every other city we visit or towns in which I've lived and visited. I can tell you my favorite place growing up. I can tell you my favorite spot when we vacationed in Largo. I can tell you my favorite spot in Athens. Heck, I can even tell you one of my favorite spots in London or Dublin, but I honestly can not think of one here. My favorite spots are all places that make me feel serene or safe. I've got nothing like that here.
I recall several years ago, after Sunshine was born, when I just needed a break. Husband told me to just get out and go someplace. I couldn't think of a single place to go around here. No where. There is nothing that calls to me. No place that makes me feel peaceful.
Since this whole challenge is about gratitude, I don't want to seem like I'm not grateful for the place I'm at. I am. I can be anywhere as long as my family is there. Because of that, I'm going to take this question a different direction. I am going to quickly talk about my family's favorite places in this town....parks. We are so very fortunate that this town has many parks to choose from. We love that we can choose different places to go play or walk. Our favorite park is probably the new one that was just completed this past fall. It's got a fantastic playground, ponds and walking trails. I grateful for the great choices we have for getting outdoors. Even though I don't have a favorite a spot around here, I love that my children have many favorite places for us to go and play!
