Everyone slept in. That's so highly unusual. Monster rarely ever sleeps past 7:30. Everyone was up at 8:00. Monster wanted pancakes, so Husband made pancakes. While the kids were having a breakfast, I was at a doctor appointment. Came home and picked up Husband's truck from the mechanic. Dropped a donation for the food pantry off. Showed Monster where one of his friends from art class lives. Got home and Monster started building and Sunshine worked on making her babies beautiful. Suddenly, it was lunchtime and nap time. Monster doesn't nap, he rests (aka reads in his room). After that, it was a working frenzy. Went to the recycling center. Dug up the garden...it's funny how on days I go for therapy, I'm not supposed to any sort of strenuous physical activity after, yet, I feel so good that I always do...I started paying for it yesterday evening though. Monster and Husband took down a shutter to see if we could buff it out or if we need to get new ones. Sadly, we need new ones. The lawn even got mowed....for $15 by the neighborhood boys. Then it was off to swim lessons for Monster and grocery shopping for me and Sunshine. Walked into the grocery store and got a call from Monster telling me that there are no swim lessons during Spring Break. Mommy dropped the ball there. Monster and Husband then went home and "played, played, played" according to the Monster. Sunshine and I finished up our shopping. She entertained the customers and staff with her happy singing throughout the store. Entertained, annoyed, who can really tell the difference, right? Came home to a whirlwind of activity. I don't think I've ever seen the kids play so well together, while being so rowdy. Normally, that kind of play turns into screaming and fighting. Won't question it because it allowed me to get more laundry done (since I'd been doing it throughout the day) and it allowed Husband to cook dinner. After dinner we went for bike/stroller rides. In two weeks, it will be bike rides for all since Nana and Papa got Sunshine a bike....shhhhh...don't tell. It was such a great way to end the day. Kids were worn out physically and mentally. So much work and play got done.
Unfortunately, yesterday set the precedent pretty high activity wise. Husband works late the rest of the week, so it's up to just me to wear these kids out. I'm up for the challenge.
