For almost 18 years, Husband and I have always felt comfortable doing pretty much anything in our time together. Lately, we've been having trouble thinking of things to actually do together. We so very rarely get time to just ourselves. Our last "date night" was May 11. When we do have those rare times when we can go out, we can't figure out what to do. We normally end up buying dog food, grocery shopping, and then out to dinner. Fun times, huh? We have never really been movie people, so we don't go to movies. We don't enjoy running or any kind of exercise together. We don't go see plays together anymore because now we want to take Monster, too. Husband does not like ballet. I don't enjoy football. A baseball game or concert takes more than the 4 hours we have together when we get a sitter. We are travelers, as I posted just a few short days ago. Again, 4 hours is not enough time, especially if we factor eating into that time. I see and hear about all these wonderful things people are doing with their spouses, and it's beginning to wear on me. I wish we could go away for a weekend or even just a day, but it's just not possible. I keep trying to think of things that Husband and I may like to do together, but I'm drawing blanks. We've fallen into a tired rut. By the time Husband gets home from work and the kids are in bed, we are both so tired that we zone out and barely even talk. The added stress of school starting hasn't helped. So, my question is, what do you and your spouse DO together that doesn't require a sitter or a lot of time? I'm looking for ideas to get out of this rut (please stick to ideas rated G since this is a family friendly blog, thanks)!

So funny you mention that, Mikey, because we were actually discussing putt putt and batting cages for next date night! :) I don't think we have bumper boats around, but we do have go carts.
