Because we all know how cool the 90s were, flannels are back in style. Sunshine was looking at this one thick, lined flannel at Kohls. I say, "Nana has one just like that. How cool would you be to match your 85 year old grandmother." She immediately walks away from it, as did the other teenager who was looking at the same wrack.

*regarding my hair
Monster: I wonder if we could gage the relative humidity by your hair. Husband: That would actually be a great science experiment. Like now, over two inches of frizz, about 100% humidity. Me: Your father is taking out the trash. If you have questions, wait until he comes in. Do not bother me in the shower.
Kids: What do you mean if we have questions? What kind of questions? When is he coming in? Are you taking a shower now? After pouring a glass of eggnog, Sunshine: I failed Papa.
Me: What? Sunshine: He told me not to drink too much eggnog. Discussing left and right... Boy: Karate has really helped with left and right.
Me: Only thing I can do without thinking about it is the Tootsie Roll. To the left, to the left, to the right, to the right. Boy: There's something just broken about that. *pats me on the head* Me: Get your computer ready for school.
*5 minutes later...Me: What did I tell you? Boy: Get my computer ready for school. Me: Why didn't you? Boy: Because I'm lazy. Sunshine was telling me about something someone said at school today. I replied, "Well, she's not the sharpest tool in the shed." Sunshine replies, "She not even a tool IN the shed!" Sadly, she's quite accurate on that statement...
Sunshine: You know what would be cool? If we cut clothes out of paper and put it on different things.
Me: You know that they used to have dolls made of paper and they had different clothes that you put on them with little tabs. It's what we used to play with before all of these interactive toys. Sunshine: Well that's just sad Boy: *walks right past father, comes outside to ask me a question.
Me: You have another parent! Boy: But he's not doing anything. You're trying to have you time, so I thought I'd intercede and have you/me time. |
