For your birthday, I wish you could see yourself through my eyes and the eyes of those who love you. You are brave. You are beautiful. You are strong. You are smart. You are funny. You are kind. You are creative. You are absolutely amazing. For your birthday, I wish you could have the kind of confidence in yourself that I have in you.
I know that these years growing up are difficult. You’re struggling to find your place. You’re struggling to find your identity. What you don’t yet realize is that you already have those things. For your birthday, I wish you the strength to embrace them.
For your birthday, my wish for you is that you let go of your emotions. You hold them in and feel as though you need to deal with them on your own. You are not alone. Feelings don’t need to be brushed aside. Your family is here for you to laugh with and cry with. Don’t push people away who want nothing more than to just be there for you.
We cannot be happy all of the time. It’s not realistic and it’s not life. So, for your birthday, I wish for you to find peace. Of course I wish you happiness as well, but in the moments where there is not much happiness, I hope that you can find peace within yourself to understand things will be alright. Peace is sometimes just looking around and taking in the amazing world around you. Seeing all the beauty and power God has created and finding your peace in that moment. Sometimes, peace comes in acceptance. May you find the peace to accept life events and know you have made the best choices you could in the moment.
For your birthday, I wish you wisdom to know right from wrong. Wisdom to change the things you want to change. Wisdom to see what truly matters. Wisdom to look within and become who you want to be. Wisdom to know that true happiness comes from yourself.
There are so many things that I wish for you on your birthday. So many things that I wish for you each and every day of your life. Your mommy loves you more than you will ever know. My last wish is that you feel that love and know that I’m here for you, not just on your birthday, but every day of your life.
Happy Birthday, Baby Boo. I love you.
Always.
Mom
