This summer, things changed. This summer, she came into her own. Something clicked. Suddenly, Sunshine is more of who she is with others to us. A lot of it has to do with being more comfortable in her own skin. She learned some great lessons this summer. She learned that she doesn't have to try to impress people. She learned that just being who she is, is impressive enough. She learned that she doesn't need to compete with others. She learned that she doesn't need to compare herself to others. She learned she is perfect for who she is. She learned she's not the best at everything, but she's also not the worst. She has learned that confidence does not equal leadership. She learned that most people are just faking to please others. She learned most people care more about themselves and what things look like to other people. She learned that doing things that make her happy, make her happy. She learned that people like her for who she is, and if they don't, they aren't friends and not worth fretting over.
I can't even begin to tell everyone how proud I am of her. I hope that she continues to be true to herself and remember all of these important things she learned over the summer.
